Madam Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Finance Minister, GOI, New Delhi Respected Sister, Sub:-Press statement for Bank Pension revision Revision On 30.10.2020 & 10.11.2020 the whole country witnrssed your human gesture & serious concerns as well, towards suffering Bank Pensioners. Bank Pensioners had a wave of cheers on their face to have a ray of hope, once they saw you supporting their decades old issues. Historically, you are the first Hon'ble Minister to take suo motto cognizance of most pitiable plights of Bank Pensioners, as evident from your interview in Business Line dated 30.10.2020 and the Key Note address to AGM, IBA on 10.10.2021. None & never in past anyone showed any lip sympathies what to say of actions. However, in your reply to question 12, tabled in Rajya Sabha on 2nd February last, Bank Pensioners conceived a negative & disappointing message, though there was nothing as such & reply was totally confined to questions and based on record at government level. The Bank Pensioners have boundless anxieties & expectations to get quick resolution of their decades old issues. Expectations are excelled high after your open support to their issues of pension, family pension, health and welfare measures, while talking to SBI & IBA Chairmen Sri Dinesh Kumar Khara & Sri Raj Kiran Rai respectively. Bank Pensioners are grateful for your sounding your Ministry Executives in this regard. BSurcharged by sheer anxiety and expectations they were anxiously waiting some announcement even in your budget speech, though these issues have no connection with budget at all. In your said reply to question 12 they wanted to see some affirmative indications with regard to their issues, pursuant to your stand in media & Key Note speech, as referred above. Sister, almost over three months have had passed of your aforesaid initiatives and we are hopeful that Bankers/ IBA would be working on issues sincerely, but bankmen expect of your further kind indulgence which may expedite decision on issues. Bank Pension Scheme under which bank men get pension is derived from RBI Pension Scheme. Therefore, whatever revision has been given to RBI staffers, the same may please be replicated to other Bank Pensioners. We urge upon you, for immediate resolution of Pension Revision & other issues.
